 Eyebrow Hair Waxing

Eyebrow waxing is preferred over tweezing for the purpose of hair removal and to change the shape of the eyebrow. However, the method of application of the wax is extremely important and the type of wax must be chosen carefully and with extreme prudence.

The different types of eyebrow wax

Hot Wax-Using hot wax for the purpose of eyebrow threading is most commonly done at a salon. One can do so even at home but it is very important that the individual knows what he is doing and has enough practice. The wax is hot but does not burn the skin and cools down as soon as the hair gets stuck to it. When the wax is hot, a piece of cloth is pressed onto the wax. After a few minutes, you or the professional must pull out the strip in a quick motion. Even though it may sound painful, the pain lasts for a few minutes only and can be kept at bay with the help of talcum powder before the process is started and soothing gels after it is over.

Cold Wax- This kind of wax is similar in appearance to hot wax. As it is not hot, a large number of people prefer it. Applying cold wax onto the eyebrow region is also less risky and keeps injuries and burns at bay. Cold wax can be purchased from any department store and kits can be used by people who want to carry out the process at home. The cold wax is applied onto the eyebrow region After a few minutes; you or the professional must pull out the strip in a quick motion. Even though it may sound painful, the pain lasts for a few minutes only and can be kept at bay with the help of talcum powder before the process is started and soothing gels after it is over.

Sugaring-This method of waxing is almost the same as that used with the help of hot and cold wax. The only difference is that the paste is made of sugar and not wax. This method is extremely old and was carried out by people almost a thousand years ago.

The sugary paste is applied onto the eyebrow region and the cloth strip allows the individual to pull out the hair in one quick motion. Whereas wax sticks to the skin and is difficult to wash out, sugar is easy to remove as it does not attach itself to the skin.

Even though plucking or tweezing pulls out the hair from the hair follicle as does eyebrow waxing, it is extremely painful. However, pain is relative and the degree differs from person to person. When one opts for tweezing or plucking, they opt for removing the unwanted hair one at a time.

1- It is important that you clean the eyebrow region thoroughly before beginning. This makes sure that the pores are clean and open, making hair removal less painful. In case you cannot handle pain at all, ice can be applied onto the area so that the numbness can keep excess pain at bay.

2-Before you begin waxing, it is important that you are completely sure about the shape you want to achieve and the method you want to follow.

3-Next you must heat the wax. However, overheating increases the chances of an injury and can lead to severe burns.

4-Combing the eyebrows is extremely necessary as the direction of the hair growth must be determined before the wax is applied onto the region.

5-The hot wax must then be applied onto the area in a proper manner. The direction in which this is applied must be that of the direction of the hair growth. Wax must not be applied in large quantities as this can drip into the eyes and cause serious vision problems.

6-The next step is to place a cloth or linen strip onto the wax which is then removed in a quick painless motion.

7-This must be carried out as many times as necessary to remove the unwanted hair.

8-After the process is complete; you will find some stray hairs that were too short to be caught by the wax. This can be removed with the help of a tweezer.

9-After the area is completely smooth; you must clean the entire region properly to make
