 Hypertension Warning Signs

Hypertension is usually known as the silent killer. It has minimal warning signs and tends to creep up on one without further notice or ado. Therefore, a person has to recognize the very first Hypertension warning signs so as to deal with them immediately.

The most common of signs is a common headache or at its worst you could have mild chest pain. The other signs, though not so very common, are feeling dizzy, shortness of breath on exertion and blurred vision at times. These symptoms can be quite frightening and make the person take immediate action. Once you get yourself to the doctor, you will be stressed upon to take medicines regularly.

However, most patients do not get themselves to the doctor on the first sign of a headache. They tend to medicate themselves using the over the counter analgesics and pain killers. By the time, the symptoms turn quite serious and there will already be organ damage done that is irreparable. Hence, the very first signs or suspicion of hypertension and one must take measures to curb it and keep it in check.

Actually, the lucky few get symptoms of hypertension. This disease is supposed to be asymptomatic whereby the only time that the person comes to know that he/she is hypertensive is after a stroke, heart attack or kidney failure. The retina could also get affected leading to blindness.

Therefore, it is important that you undergo regular checkups to check the levels of hypertension at the very first instance. If it is detected in the early stages then diet and an exercise regime is enough to get it in control.

There have been people who have had hypertension stalking them without being aware of it. The only time that they got to know of it is when the doctor examined them for a routine checkup and discovered the underlying disease. But, this can happen to the lucky few. If you do not have yourself routinely monitored by a health professional you will not come to know of its existence. Headaches are the first signs of being hypertensive. In case of a nose bleed you certainly know that the hypertension has reached alarming levels.

At times people with hypertension have symptoms that are vague and they are unable to put a finger to it. They could even be mild ones and brushed aside thinking that they are due to tiredness or stress and if they persist for a long time then even thought to be psychosomatic. The symptoms could even be misdiagnosed by the person for some other ailment. A person with blood pressure usually only comes to know of it when it is measured.

Having said that, the most common symptoms to watch out for are headaches, dizziness blurred vision and nausea. Do not wait until the hypertension becomes malignant and severe. If hypertension is recognized and treated at the outset there are less chances of organs getting affected due to it and leading to damage, further disease and even death.

Hence, ensure that you have regular checkups and are sure that you do not fall under the category of being hypertensive.
