Should We Take Health Plus Vitamins

In today’s world, people are more conscious about their health. While some crave for the perfect body, others are just concerned to keep themselves fit for a longer time. While we have exercises to tone up the body and diets to follow that keeps the body fit, there are certain vitamins that also helps in enhancing our health. Health plus vitamins are now a part of the diet for many health-conscious people. In this article, we would delve deeper into the world of health plus vitamins.

Vitamins are natural substances, which are essential for the proper body development. Our body requires around 13 types of vitamins. These are the Vitamin A, B, C, D, E and K. The vitamin B itself can be classified into several types like the B-6, B-12, thiamine and many more. Generally, we need not consume vitamins separately. There are certain food items that provide us with the necessary vitamins. Some vitamins are also created inside our body.

Each type of vitamin serves a different purpose. Lack of a certain type of vitamin might result in some sort of disease. To explain it further, suppose there is deficiency of Vitamin A in our body. It might result into a serious problem of night blindness. Similarly, lack of Vitamin D could become the cause for developing rickets! So, how do we take in more health plus vitamins? Well, its simple enough: a proper balanced diet will provide us all the vitamins needed. However, there are certain multivitamin capsules that also serve the purpose.

However, it is important for people to plan their diet in order to include all the vitamins. However, excess consumption of certain vitamins may also cause problems. Therefore a strategy must be drawn beforehand. Recent studies have found that most of us have an improper diet with more calories than required, and lack of nutrients important for the body. These nutrients, besides having calcium, potassium, fibers also include many Vitamins. For example, children need to have more of Vitamin E in their diet, and is not followed in most cases. Similarly, adults require less cholesterol rich foods and more of Vitamin A. So, here are some of the tips to have a proper diet

A variety of vitamin-rich foods and drinks should be consumed. Vitamins needed for proper health are contained in most food items. Thus a balanced diet with less of fats, cholesterol, salt, sugar and alcohol should be preferred. Excess intake of these items destroys the good effects of vitamins.

Diets for over aged people need to be prepared considering the age. Problems like poor eyesight and weak muscle joints are the common ailments that come along with age. Hence, consumption of some healthy vitamins like Vitamin A and Vitamin B-12 would take care of such problems. It is also advised to have Vitamin B-2 in crystalline form, generally found in supplements.

Women who may become pregnant need to have foods that are rich in iron for staying healthy. Vitamin C acts as a good iron-absorber in the body, and hence the diet should contain iron-rich foods along with Vitamin C. In case, the woman is already in the course of pregnancy, a varied diet should be maintained with consumption of folic acid regularly. Folic acid happens to be a part of the Vitamin B family, and is a water-soluble vitamin. It is also advisable to have balanced amount of Vitamin A in the diet, one must remember that excess of Vitamin A might have contradicting results.

For people with a dark skin tone or are exposed to insufficient sunlight should consider intake of Vitamin D in their diet. The same goes true for older people too.

All said and done, there is a method to the consumption of vitamins for health purposes too. Excess intake may have devastating consequences. Over consumption of vitamins create problems like vomiting, nausea, poor appetite and also have been known to cause birth problems and liver diseases. Thus a balanced diet with all the required Vitamins is the order of the day, as it helps in keeping you fit and healthy.
