The body needs proper rest in order to function normally. However, in the present time, people have become very busy in life, they hardly get time to ‘stand and stare’ and forget about sleeping. But that won’t do. Though work pressure has increased, stress has reached it acme and there seems to be a shortage of time. Now, this is the condition of every modern man. The modern man can hardly find out any time for taking rest. As a consequence of all these they fall sick, have to run to doctors from time to time and depend on medicines throughout the rest of their lives. But is there no respite from all these?

Well…it’s fortunate to say that there is! What? The remedy is pretty simple. In order to lead a healthy life, you have to take a balanced diet, perform exercises and take adequate rest. Now, what does adequate rest mean? A normal adult person needs to sleep for seven to eight hours in a day. But many people even find it difficult to get a sound sleep. In this regard, the present article will provide you with some essential tips that would help you get a sound sleep. As mentioned earlier every person should sleep for minimum seven to eight hours in a day to get the energy to work the next day. This fresh energy will uplift his mood to a great extent. Now, let’s consider the tips to get a sound sleep at night one after the 

 You should avoid taking a nap in the day. This might make it very difficult in falling asleep during the night. 

ou should consume food at proper intervals throughout the day and do not take heavy meals during the night.

Quit smoking as soon as you can. If possible, do not smoke before minimum 1 or 2 hours of going to bed· 

You can go for a warm and comfortable bath before sleeping. You may also read some interesting books or listen to a soothing music before going to bed·

A little meditation also induces sleep to a great extent.

 If you find it difficult to sleep after lying on the bed, then do not continue lying for anything more than fifteen minutes. You should simply get up and watch the television for sometime or read a book .

The bedroom should be used only to sleep and not to watch TV or to work

The bedroom should be kept quiet and dark

You should stay away from extreme mental stimulation just before going to bed

Before going to bed, keep all your worries aside. All you may do is when the dinner is over, you can dedicate around half an hour to deal with the problems. Rather than thinking about the problems, write them down on a piece of paper. Then keep this paper aside and try to forget them for throughout the night. 

The playtime after dinner should be made a time to relax. A lot of activity before bedtime can make children awake for a longer time throughout the night

A relaxing and regular bedtime routine should be established.

Both quality and quantity are equally important. Most of the adults require an uninterrupted sleep of 7 to 8 hours. Now, if you are pressing the snooze option on your alarm during the morning, it means that you have not got enough sleep. This in turn can be for any sleep disorder, not adequate time on the bed or for some external disturbances. 

You should have your dinner before two hours of going to bed. If you are susceptible to heartburn, stay away from fatty or spicy foods 

Do not drink too much before going to bed

Reconditioning method is often used by the therapists to treat insomnia patients. In this method, individuals are being ‘reconditioned’ for associating a bed with only sleep.

You can have products like yogurt that helps in neutralizing adverse effects of the ‘stress hormones’ on the digestive track·

The bed should be absolutely comfortable and cozy enough to sleep

You should sincerely make an effort to practice the tips mentioned above in order to get a sound sleep. After all a healthy body and a healthy mind is all that you want, isn’t it?
