Apply Concealer with Ring Finger

Pictures of celebrities without makeup prove that even the most beautiful amongst us need a bit of up magic to look our best.  Age spots, freckles, dark under eye circles and acne pits are blemishes on skin which need to be covered up. Fortunately, concealer is one magic trick which helps us hide almost all blemishes and helps us keep looking our best. It is therefore important to apply concealer properly so that your skin looks flawless and more attractive.

Concealer is available in powder, gel, stick or liquid form. The function of concealer is just what the name indicates- to conceal flaws. Concealer works on the principle of covering the discoloured patch of skin so that it blends in with the surrounding skin. The shade of concealer selected is thus the most important thing to be considered. Makeup artists recommend that at least 2 shades of concealer be used to correct different problem areas.

The type of concealer used should be based on the type of complexion it is to be used on- dry, oily or combination. The thumb rule is to use liquid concealers on dry skin and powder concealers to take away the shine from oily skin. The latest gel concealers available in the market today suit both skin types. Stick concealers are heavy on the skin and are typically used for stage or film make up.

How to Apply Concealer Using Ring Finger

1. The ring finger is the finger which has the lightest touch. This is why we use the ring finger to dab on and spread the concealer on problem areas.

2. Apply concealer after the foundation has been applied and has set.

3. Use eye cream on the under eye area to prevent the concealer from dragging on.

4. While using liquid concealer, dab on a small quantity on the ring finger and dab it on the area to be covered. Use the ring finger to spread the concealer lightly alternating press and roll motions.

5. Use a makeup sponge to set the concealer.

6. Use a small quantity of concealer and dab in the under eye area, taking care to avoid concealer getting in the eye.

7. Spread the concealer lightly using the tip of the ring finger. Dust the area with translucent powder. Light reflects off the powder and makes the dark under eye circles disappear.
