Fighting fat after forty is always considered as a form of struggle by many people. There are so many diet guru's on the net and T.V. it boggles the mind. Face it, what works for one pesorn doent work for the next, you have to find your own happy little median and stick to it.I recently had heart surgery and was told i needed to lose weight, I have lost 20 lbs, in 3 weeks. No matter what diet plan you use the key is going to be in cutting calories I dont know if this will work for you but it is what works for me. I get out of bed at 4:00 a.m and drink a cup of coffey with non diary creamer and splenda then around 6:30 or 7:00 I eat 1 cup of oat bran with splenda and as little milk as possible. around 11:30 or 12:00 I eat a tuna sandwhich (no mayonase) made with salad dressing and a little pickle relish. at 4:00 I eat a microwavable dinner, I like Michelina dinners, they are usualy only 300 to 350 calories. I try not to eat after that but lets face it, some times you have to have a snack so when i do, i usualy eat a few carrots or celery with some salad dressing or the occasional apple.I also take multi vitamins every day to make sure my body is getting enough vitamins. If you drink soda then cut down to 1 to 3 cans in a seven day period the less the better, try to drink at least a half gallon of water a day and maybe tea sweetened with splenda. You also need to cut out most meats which includes hot dogs balogna, treat meat, bacon, sausage etc, etc.Its hard but after 2 or 3 days you will get used to it and when you see the first 10 or 15 pounds gone you will be glad you did it,Good luck
