Hair Follicles Clogged By Sebum

Taking care of your hair is not a difficult task and you can do it by just by devoting little time each day. You should keep your hair clean. If your hair is not clean and the hair follicles are blocked by dirt and sebum, they will harm the hair. When you start losing your hair or there is no shine or luster in your hair, then it means that your hair is not getting proper care. The hair follicles are becoming blocked and so are not allowing the hair from growing out. The plugged hair follicles are just like acne. The hair in that follicle is trapped and cannot come to the surface, so after some time your scalp becomes smooth and you lose most of your hair. So you should take proper care so that hair follicles are not plugged.

Reasons for Clogged Hair Follicles

Excessive Testosterone: There are many reasons of your hair follicles becoming plugged and the first one is that when there is excessive build up of testosterone in blood converting over to DHT (Dihydrotestosterone) and plugging up your hair follicles.

Artificial Conditioners: The second reason is that when you use shampoos, conditioners, and gels that contain unnecessary artificial chemical that stay on your scalp and are inside your follicles. They also form a acid mantle coat that blogs the hair follicles.

Artificial Cleansers and Conditioners: Different people have different types of hair. Many people have oily hair and many have dry hair. When the hair follicle releases extra sebum it is deposits on the scalp. Here, it will combine with dead scalp cells, dirt, and shampoo chemical remains. Using natural medicines decreases the quantity of chemical existing to mix with excess sebum and dead scalp cells. If you use any type of gel to style your hair these gels combine with sebum to plug up your follicles.

Excess of Sebum and Dead Flakes

The third reason is that the unnecessary discharge of sebum and scalp flaking combining together to form a hard material that plugs up your follicles. During puberty, excess of oil and testosterone is secreted by sebaceous glands that form a coat around the hair follicles. The sebum then travels through the pores to the outer skin surface and comes in contact with lipids and sweat. This combination results in the fine coat called acid mantle. This coat is the main culprit for clogged hair follicles.

How to Prevent Clogging of Hair Follicles

Shampoos That Prevent Conversion of Testosterone Into DHT: In the first reason it is known that excessive conversion of testosterone into DHT gather in the hair follicles and plugs. If you are aware of this, then you can use different types of shampoos on your hair to dissolve this DHT. This keeps your pores open and your hair growing normally. You can also take capsules that prevent the conversion of testosterone into DHT.

Use Non Comedogenic Shampoos: Most of the shampoos are made by using unnatural additives, petrochemicals, dyes, and preservatives that are harmful to your hair and scalp. Those shampoos that contain a lot of chemicals will harm your hair if used regularly. Moreover, the shampoos containing chemicals in your hair get into your pores and plug the scalp. If they enter follicle, they also get into your blood and are harmful to your liver and the rest of your body. When buying a shampoo try to look for a shampoo that contains fewer petrochemicals and have more herbs with natural cleansing chemicals. Prefer non-comedogenic shampoos that don’t contain harmful chemicals that blocks hair follicles.

Use Clarifying Shampoos: These shampoos are devoid of conditioners. Using these shampoos will prevent excessive oil formation in the scalp and hair.

Medications for Clogged Hair Follicles: Retinoids, medicine derived from Vitamin A, works in preventing clogging of hair follicles. It also helps in killing the acne causing bacteria.

Mix little amount of jojoba oil in the aloe Vera gel and put it in your scalp. Rub this mixture in your hair, it will keep your hair thick and shiny and your hair follicles open.

Get to the root cause from the issue. You need to understand that acne isn't an eexarntl issue, but it is an outward manifestation of an internal one. It makes perfect sense that if the problem is internal, then the solution has to be internal. Many pimple sufferers make the mistake of treating the symptom rather than the cause which is why they only cure their acne temporarily at best.
