Most people have puffy eyes either due to stress, smoking, aging or drinking. However, they mustn’t worry as it is not difficult to get rid of these puffy eyes. A number of skincare products in the market today claim to make ‘miraculous’ things happen if you use them for about 2 weeks. Most of these creams cost a fortune and hardly any are manufactured with non-chemical ingredients. A Few of These Home Remedies For Puffy Eyes

1. Green or Black Tea


Black tea helps because the caffeine in these teas reduce the size of swollen blood vessels around the eyes that have formed due to aging or stress. On the other hand, the herbs in the green tea offer anti-irritants which work together to sooth the puffiness around your eyes.


How to Use


First choose the tea that you wish to consume. Next, immerse the 2 tea bags into hot water for about 5 minutes. Let the water become lukewarm. Remove the tea bags and place it over close eyelids. Find a soft cloth and place it over the tea bags. During summer, it is recommended to cool the tea bags by keeping them in the refrigerator. What you should do is keep about 6 spoons in the refrigerator for about 20 minutes. After they are cool, lie down and place one spoon over each eye. Keep replacing them as and when they get warm.

3. Using cucumbers is the best-known and oldest remedy in the book for puffy eyes. It is known to help and refresh puffy eyes. This is because the cucumbers offer properties that allow the blood vessels to reduce in size. The result is de-puffed eyes.


All you need to do is put a thin slice of cucumber over each eye. Lie down for about 10 minutes and relax.

4. Egg whites are not only good for your health but they can also be used to reduce puffiness around eyes. They can also be used to reduce those crow’s feet around eyes.


The egg whites should be beaten until they are stiff and frothy. Next, a brush should be taken and the mixture should be applied onto the targeted area gently. It should be left on for about 10-12 minutes and removed with lukewarm water. Next, apply cotton balls immersed in cold water for best results.

2. A major reason for puffy eyes is dehydration. Therefore, the obvious cure is consuming at least 8 glasses of water on a regular basis. The water will balance the lipid and moisture content in your skin and reduce puffy eyes. The negative toxins will be removed from your body and your skin will look as youthful as never before.


3. Most people who wear contact lenses complain about puffy eyes. This is because they do not take enough care to remove them before they sleep. Most people also do not disinfect them properly before re-using them. If your working hours require you to use the computer for a considerable amount of time, wear glasses instead of contact lenses. This will definitely help to reduce the puffiness around your eyes.


4. The most common reason for puffy eyes is too little sleep. Eight hours of sleep is necessary for a healthy body and mind. Puffiness appears around the eyes when the individual hasn’t gotten enough sleep and the blood vessels expand in size. Therefore, the best remedy for getting rid of puffy eyes is adequate sleep.
