Chickenpox is very common and is estimated to infect about 80% of adults at some point in their life. It is generally more severe in adult males than in adult females or children. - Oatmeal therapy can be taken by mixing two cups of oatmeal with two litres of water and boiling it for 15 minutes. This cooked oatmeal mixture then needs to be put into a cloth cotton bag and dipped in the bath tub. The oatmeal seeps through the cloth, leaving a comforting film in the bath water. This helps to sooth the skin and heals the scars and is an effective home remedy for chicken pox.
- Carrots and coriander soup made by mixing 100 grams of carrot and 60 grams of coriander powder needs to be taken once a day. This provides quick relief.
- Rub the affected area with the vitamin E oil as it is a highly effective remedy for curing chicken pox. Rubbing Vitamin E oil shows immediate healing effects. It will also help to remove those marks on the skin left by chicken pox.
- Take herbal tea made from herbs like chamomile, basil, cinnamon, honey, and lemon. It helps the infected person to relax at night.
- Honey is an excellent home remedy for treating chicken pox. It should be applied externally on the affected areas to avoid irritation. Smearing skin with honey helps to heal in as early as three days. Hence it is known as a sure cure for chicken pox.
- Warm water, especially with neem added, can relieve itching
- A common home remedy for treating chicken pox is to add ginger to the bath water. It helps to stop inching.
- Brown vinegar is one of the best home remedies for chicken pox. Take ½ cup of brown vinegar and add this to bathtub water. This give relief form itching and irritation. It will also help to heal the lesions.
- Baking soda is another well known natural home remedy for treating chicken pox especially the itching. When you feel itching, you can take a bath with water mixed with baking soda. Soda can dry the affected area. This will prevent scratching those eruptions and it will accelerate the healing of the lesions.
- Green pea water is another effective home remedy for chicken pox. This helps to relieve the skin irritation due to chicken pox. Another way is to use the water in which fresh peas have been cooked.
- Another natural home remedy for chicken pox is Marigold. Mix 2 tablespoons of marigold flowers with 1 tablespoon of witch hazel leaves and water. Leave them overnight. Next day, apply this on the rashes using cotton; this is a good treatment to get relief itching due to chicken pox.
