Royal Wedding Cake Recipe Revealed

There has been a lot of media frenzy surrounding Prince William and Kate Middleton’s wedding, and with the stories of their royal wedding cake starting to circulate in the media, the masses are eager to know every detail about their fancy wedding cake. The royal wedding cake will be based upon the recipe created by Chef Darren McGrady. Darren earlier used to be the chef for Princess Diana. Darren claimed that he was very excited that William had chosen the recipe from his cook book for the wedding cake. Basically there will be two types of cakes for the royal wedding. Besides the chocolate cake there will be a fruit cake which will be multi layered. The fruit cake will be prepared by famous baker, Fiona Cairns. As per Kate Middleton’s instructions, the cream colored fruit cake will be garnished with edible flowers. The ingredients that will be used in the fruit cake will comprise of egg, cherries, raisins, lemon and orange, amongst many others. Fiona says that brandy is one of the most important ingredients that will be used in the cake. The brandy is primarily used for soaking the dry fruits, so that they become plump.

For the chocolate biscuit cake, Paul Courtney is appointed to prepare the cake. This cake will consist of around one thousand and seven hundred biscuits and around forty pounds of chocolate. Around six hundred guests will taste this cake at the royal wedding and the guests will have the choice of having both the chocolate biscuit cake as well as the fruit cake. Fruit cakes are considered as the traditional wedding cake at Britain, and Kate’s decision to include the fruit flavored cake has impressed many people. Around a group of ten people are working with Fiona Cairns are working on the preparation of the cake. Kate Middleton has taken active participation for guiding Fiona, about the intricacies of the wedding cake and most of the designs and flowers are suggested by her. Every flower that will be adorned on the fruit cake signifies some meaning, such as the rose garnished on the cake would stand for happiness in the marriage.

This cake is not only Prince Williams favorite but we hope you like it too. Here is the recipe for you to try. Strange for you it’s a no bake cake that is you don’t need to bake this cake. Serve it right from your refrigerator.

Ingredients for Royal Wedding Chocolate biscuit cake

  • ½ tsp butter to grease your pan
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 4 ounces chocolate preferably dark variety
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 8 ounces MC Vities biscuits
  • 1 egg

For decoration or icing you will need 8 ounces dark and 2 ounce of white chocolate

Method of preparation royal wedding cake

Break biscuits into small pieces, almond size, and keep aside. Grease pan with butter and in another bowl mix sugar and butter

Melt dark chocolate in double broiler. Keep on adding butter sugar mixture along with egg with continuous stirring. Add in this mixture biscuits till well coated.

Pour this mixture in icing ring with no gaps let. This is going to be the top of your cake. Keep in refrigerator for 3-4 hours.

Now for icing melt dark chocolate

Turn the cake upside down from the ring and pour this dark chocolate with spatula .Now melt and pour white chocolate at random and let it drop any way it wants to.
