Skin Nutrition What Your Skin Needs

Good nutrition intake and treating the skin with good skin care products are the best means of providing the essentials that a skin needs. Best care for the skin can be given by following the guidelines discussed here.

The first and foremost is nourishment. Your skin needs good nutrients. Wrinkles may form if your diet lacks essential vitamins and minerals. The skin may become dry and rough if it does not get proper nutrition. You need not spend your money on the famous products available in the market to feed your skin with nutrients. Most of the expensive lotions and creams meant for treating your skin do not give the desired results. You should therefore avoid using such products with a fond hope of improving your skin condition.
Nutrition should be from inside and outside as well. A good beginning for a healthy skin is the intake of healthy food. The healthy food should not include added sugar. Simple starches should be excluded as they are converted to sugar quickly. Sugar hampers many health improvements. Skin health is one of the conditions affected by sugar. Glycation takes place by binding of sugar molecule to a collagen, a healthy protein. Long chains known as Advanced Glycation End-Products (AGEs) are formed. This results in loss of collagen and elastin, leading to aging of the skin. You should include green salads, lean meats, fish, green vegetables and fruits. Deep colored vegetables provide good nutrition. Blueberries, raspberries, and strawberries are very nutritious. Skin needs these fruits.
Making up your skin is equivalent to abusing your skin. Intake of a quality supplement containing antioxidants can give you wonderful results. You should take minimum 50 mg of Carnosine a day to counter glycation. Along with this you should also take 30 mg of S-Adenosyl-Methionine in enteric coated form to save it from stomach acids.
You can use creams or lotions meant for skin care. You should select a product having ingredients which have nutritious values. Your skin needs repair to its damaged cells. You can help the skin health by stimulating it to grow its cells speedily. You should help your skin to produce collagen and elastin. You should protect it from damages that can be caused by oxidation. You should give immediate medical attention to your skin if it suffers chronic inflammation. You should drink at least 8 glasses of water for your skin to stay hydrated.
The most exposed part of our body is skin. Avoid prolonged exposure to sun, so that your complexion will not deteriorate. The UV rays of the sun can cause skin cancer. Even though our body is enabled by sun rays in producing vitamin D, over exposure to sun light can cause harmful effects.
Besides making available nutrients to the skin, there are certain other things which your skin needs. You should sleep at least for eight hours a day as your skin revives itself during this time. You should maintain clean bowels. Healthy skin needs elimination of toxins. You should avoid stressful conditions. Your skin needs oxygen and hence deep breathing exercises are necessary to supply enough oxygen to your skin.
